The Committee started its activities on July 19, 2019. The Committee’s main purpose focuses on supporting entrepreneurs and start-up companies by building up ecosystem in Osaka. The National Government is now in the process of nominating 2-3 ecosystem bases in Japan for start-up businesses by the end of the FY2019. The Committee consists of Osaka Business Development Agency (OBDA), Osaka Prefectural Government, Osaka City Government, Sakai City Government, Kansai Bureau of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Kansai Economic Federation (Kankeiren), Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kansai Association of Corporate Executives (Doyukai). Osaka Business Development Agency (OBDA) serves as secretariat of the committee.
