If you are looking to start a new business in Japan, you will need to obtain a specific visa.

If you already have a Japanese visa that has no restriction in the type of your activities such as Permanent Resident, Spouse or Child of Japanese national, you can start a business at any time.

For those who do not have a visa that allows you to do so, you need to apply for the business manager visa.

In order to obtain a business management visa, in addition to have a physical office space in Japan, you need to employ at least two full-time employees or have a total capital or investment of at least 5 million yen.

Therefore, several local governments*, including the city of Osaka, offer a “start-up visa” that allows you to stay in Japan for six months to do preliminary research for opening an office and to verify your business plan.

外国人が日本で起業するには、まず日本に滞在する在留資格（ビザ）が必要です。そして、事業の経営ができるのは、下記のいずれかのビザとなっています
