Big business such as NTT West and Konica Minolta have newly set up a business development base at Grand Front Osaka in Osaka-Umeda. In addition to “Osaka Innovation Hub”, there exists an entrepreneur support facility “Knowledge Capital”, an open innovation base “X Port (to be read ‘Cross Port’)” by Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Osaka Institute of Technology, entrepreneur support café by Kansai University and so on. In June, a community style co-working space “WeWork” started its operation in Umeda Front Tower Building. The 2.5 kilo range around Osaka-Umeda has attracted bases of industry-academia collaboration and of exchange among different industries, forming a base for collaboration for new business creation.
