Osaka welcomes Dr. Brown, Director of Department of Commerce, State of Washington.

Dr, Lisa Brown, Director, State of Washington Department of Commerce, together with Mr. Chris Green, Assistant Director, Office of Economic Development & Competitiveness, visited Osaka Innovation Hub (OIH) and Osaka Business Development Agency (OBDA) offices on November 11th, 2019.

During their stay in Osaka, OBDA hosted a roundtable discussion on Osaka-Seattle business exchange to establish criteria to recruit an Osaka delegation to an A.I. Meetup in Seattle in October 2020 as an action item of the MoU between the Department of Commerce and OBDA.

These meetings were attended by representatives from Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Japan External Trade Organization Osaka, (JETRO Osaka), Osaka International Business Promotion Center, (IBPC Osaka), the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation and OIH as well as OBDA officers.

OBDA is planning to send a delegation to the AI Meetup Session in Seattle next October, led by its president Mr. Junzo Tateno. This delegation would consist of approximately 5-8 companies including Konica-Minolta Inc. and Proassist Ltd., which are keen to collaborate with startups located in the Greater Seattle area.

大阪産業局と米国ワシントン州のMOU締結を視野に、シアトルで来年開催のAIプログラムに参加へ

ワシントン州のリサ・ブラウン商務長官が大阪イノベーションハブ・大阪産業局を訪問。

2019年11月11日、ワシントン州のリサ・ブラウン商務長官と経済開発チーム次長のクリス･グリーン氏が、大阪イノベーションハブ(OIH)と大阪産業局の事務所を訪問した。

大阪滞在中には、大阪産業局が大阪とシアトルとの間のビジネス交流に関するラウンドテーブルを開催。2020年10月にシアトルで開催されるAIミートアッププログラムの参加にむけて意見交換を行った。この事業は、今後、商務部と大阪産業局との間で締結が予定されるMOUでの具体的交流事業の一つとなるもの。

これらの会議には、大阪商工会議所、日本貿易振興機構大阪本部、大阪国際経済振興センター、中小企業基盤整備機構近畿本部、大阪イノベーションハブ、大阪産業局の役員などが参加。大阪産業局では、立野理事長がトップとなって5社から8社程度の在阪企業をAIミートアップセッションに派遣する予定。グレーターシアトル圏に立地するスタートアップ企業との連携に関心をもつコニカミノルタ社やプロアシスト社などに参加を呼びかけている。
