With the theme of "Future Society (abundant, secure and sustainable society)", we are calling out to domestic and international startups with business plans mainly focusing on the fields of "CleanTech", "FinTech" and "SportsTech".

・The event is held as a part of the Global Innovation Conference, Hack Osaka 2023. The schedule is subject to change depending on the progress of the conference.
・We will invite all the presenting startups to the business meetings where we provide matching services between Japanese and foreign startups and major corporations in Osaka/Kansai region.

「CleanTech」
Technology that contributes to the development of a sustainable society. Reduction of CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions, and improvement of efficiency
→Energy saving, new energy, storage batteries/batteries, hydrogen, asset management, architectural design, new agricultural methods, new materials, etc.
「FinTech」
Technologies and solutions that can contribute to the realization of “Global Financial City OSAKA"
→Metaverse, blockchain, IoT, AI (artificial intelligence), API (application programming interface), financial services (remittance, settlement, insurance, etc.), carbon credits and other climate change-related services, etc.
「SportsTech」
New technologies and services to realize "watching," "supporting," "playing," and "creating" sports and entertainment pursued by a future society with new lifestyles.
→Metaverse, sports spectating, training, wearables, IoT, AI (artificial intelligence), AR, VR, etc.
*Startups must have achieved at minimum Series A financing, and must be willing to enter the global market.
*Startups must have a product, service, or beta version of a product or service that can be tested in a demonstration experiment.
*Startups must have business models that contribute to open innovation originating in Osaka/Kansai, such as collaboration with large companies.

After screening the applications based on the above criteria, companies will be selected to present on stage at Hack Award 2023 on February 21st, 2023.
Only qualified startups will be notified via e-mail by mid-October 2022. Results and feedback from the screening will not be disclosed
Those who pass the application screening will be invited to come to Japan and present at the venue on the day of the event.

*The Hack Osaka Executive Committee will cover the cost of the bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka, as well as accommodation during the stay in Osaka (From Feb. 19 check in to Feb. 23 check out).
*In principle, we expect to issue an invitation letter for one person per company.
・Each startup will have 5 minutes for the pitch presentation.
・Each startup will have 5 minutes for answering questions. By early November 2022, Startups will be notified of questions from several judges, including VC accelerators and serial entrepreneurs. We ask that startups try to answer these questions in the video submitted in advance, as well as during the pitch on the day of the presentation.
・The judges will evaluate the pitches and Q&A sessions for each of the startups, and the top startups will be awarded.
・Those who pass the initial screening will be required to submit a video of their pitch in English, filmed by the speaker themselves, to be submitted by mid-December 2022.
*The startups will be notified of the details of the video shooting environment and submission date at a later date.
・Pitches made on the day of the Hack Award (February 21st, 2023) will be archived for a certain period of time following the event.
