【November 26th 2024】GET IN THE RING OSAKA 2024 – AI Revolution –

GET IN THE RING, a global pitch event run by the Unknown Group, a non-profit startup support organization headquartered in the Netherlands, currently has more than 10,000 startups from 100 countries participating. Every year, regional competitions are held in various countries around the world, and the Japanese competition is held in Osaka. This year marks the ninth time the event has been held in Osaka. The event is characterized by the format of one-on-one pitch battles staged in a ring, rather than on a regular stage. The winner will have an access to challenge the Global Finals, which will be held overseas in the fall of the following year.

On November 26th, the Japanese finals of “GET IN THE RING,” a pitch contest for startups aiming to expand their business globally, were held.
This year’s theme was “AI,” and six startups with the potential to expand their business in the global market, including generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning, took the stage.

The “neurosensing technology” that analyzes brain waves, developed by Mirai Innovation Research Institute, is revolutionary and is expected to be used in the healthcare field. Cognitive training to improve memory and concentration for the elderly will be a service to prevent cognitive decline and can be optimized immediately through real-time analysis of the user’s brain waves. In contrast, Geek Guild’s product has an advantage over ChatGPT in the accuracy of information and is also expected to be used in the healthcare field.
After a tense Q&A session between the two companies, the winner went to Geek Guild based on their current business achievements, the scalability of their product, and her passionate pitch.

Xpress AI develops AI agents. A term that may not be familiar to many, AI’s algorithmically autonomous AI agents are software programs that collect necessary data and perform self-determined tasks based on that data in order to achieve goals set by humans. They can automate human tasks and management, such as business design, marketing strategy, and even hiring human resources. In contrast, SponsorForce develops a platform that matches sports teams looking for sponsors with the best teams and companies that want to sponsor them.

Both were innovative in their product and service offerings and appealed to an attractive market with an easy-to-imagine usage practicality. The winner SponsorForce, which had the clearer track record and commercialization feasibility.

Kasanare provides customized solutions to meet corporate challenges. Its proprietary “Casanare Technology Piece” combines LLM Ops and RAG technologies to develop and operate AI applications optimized for each company and department. In contrast, Xsym’s service develops industrial image AI using “sym X,” a proprietary simulation environment crossed with data generation and control technology. The company focuses mainly on services for the manufacturing and automotive industries. Both companies have already collaborated with large companies and are in the process of commercializing their products. The winner was Kasanare with its core vision of customer success and scalable products.

The services of all the participants were all about teaching us about the new and latest technology services that are available to us. The evolution of “AI,” which will change the world and our daily lives in the future, reminds us of the magical tools used in the movies and cartoons we saw when we were growing up. Startup companies are now making such future life feasible. The near future in which “AI” will be implemented in society, not to replace humans, but to accompany us into the future, has already begun. We will continue to support startup companies that are creating such an epoch-making future.
